Centenary Badge Competition

Date: 3rd Feb 2024 Author: Andy Hewitt
This year Highcliffe Scout Group will have been continuously scouting for 100 years.
As part of the celebrations our young people spent some time designing a new badge that will be permanently added to our uniform and worn on the necker.
Each section had a winner and they all received a small prize for their efforts.

The winner was a member of the Cub section. His winning badge was tidied and added to in order to create our new badge. His design and the official design are shown below (yellow and red).
We also selected a winning badge to be made into a camp blanket badge for our Centenary Camp. The winner was a member of our Squirrel section. His design and the official version are below (multi-coloured).
A huge congratulations to all the winners and thank you to everyone who took part.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
